Acer Aspire One

Acer adds two new netbooks to its thinner and lighter second-generation line of products. The company offers users the 11.6 inch Aspire One AO751h and 10.1 inch Aspire One AOD250. Both the devices provide customers continuous Internet access and enhanced battery life.

According to Acer, the Aspire One AO751h is its first ever 11.6 inch netbook. It includes a large high-definition LED-backlight widescreen with 16:9 ratio display. Although sporting a thinner appearance, this device still possesses all the easy-to-use attributes of earlier generation netbooks. It boasts of a full sized keyboard which offers a comfortable typing experience. The Acer Aspire One AOD250 is ideal for consumers who are constantly traveling as it comprises of a light and compact design.

Both the models provide excellent Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi 802.11b/g. This makes checking e-mail, surfing the Web, listening to online music and making VOIP calls enjoyable and hassle-free. For users who are hooked onto sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, these netbooks allow them to easily post updates, view links and send tweets. Selected Aspire One models also come with optional 3G broadband wireless connectivity. They also incorporate a soft-touch palm rest for enhanced typing comfort

Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product management for Acer America stated, “As the worldwide leader in the netbook market, we designed our new 11.6-inch AO751h after careful consideration about how customers use and most enjoy their netbooks. We predict that the larger display and keyboard will be a game-changer for mobile consumers looking to take it to the next level with the ultimate mobile device.”

He further added, “These two new Acer Aspire One offerings will satisfy the needs of today’s extremely diverse mobile users – from professionals who need a streamlined, highly mobile form factor to students who want a productivity-enhancing large keyboard and display. In all cases, Aspire One customers get a reliable, easy-to-use, stylish device that will let them remain connected.”

The new line of Acer netbooks offer customers a prolonged battery life. The AO751h gives users up to eight hours with the 6-cell battery and four hours with the 3-cell battery. The AOD250 provides up to three hours 15 minutes and six hours with the 3-cell and 6-cell batteries respectively. The systems also house the latest Intel Atom processors.

These models feature a more streamlined look than their predecessors as they measure only one inch in thinness. The netbooks are also available in four trendy colors namely ruby red, sapphire blue, seashell white and diamond black. They are light as they weigh less than three pounds. The AO751h features a Multi-Gesture Touchpad which allows users to view pictures and navigate through websites by simply flicking and pinching the touchpad.

The Aspire Ones consist of 1GB of memory and 160GB SATA 5400RPM hard space while some models have 2GB of DDR2 memory and up to 250GB internal hard drive. Both netbooks have the Acer Crystal Eye webcam integrated into its systems. This gives users a good online video conferencing and photo clarity even in poor lit environments. The integrated digital microphone provides advanced sound quality while lowering background noise levels. The models include Dolby headphones and two built-in stereo speakers which give crystal clear sounds.

They also possess three USB 2.0, VGA and Ethernet ports which connect easily to the latest devices like digital cameras, displays and consumer electronics. They also feature Bluetooth capabilities and multi-in-one digital card reader. The AO751h has a dedicated SD card slot. Both feature Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Home in their systems. The AO751h netbook includes Mobile Intel US15W Express Chipset while the AOD250 has Mobile Intel 945GSE Express Chipset.

The Acer Aspire AO751h netbook is available at a starting price of $349.99 while other models with the 6-cell battery are available for a starting price of $379.99. The Acer Aspire One AOD250 netbook can be acquired at a starting price of $298.
